DeepForest Art Studio
is located in Pai in northern Thailand. This small mountain village is famous for its laid-back atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. It has a vibrant creative community existing out of local Thai people, tourists and expats from all over the world.
Jongrak Jayawan and Ramona van Veghel started DeepForest Art Studio in 2016. Situated on a quiet mountain hill near the forest, it is an inspiring place surrounded by beautiful nature. The studio itself used to be an old local farm house in the village. It was taken apart, re-assembled again and transformed into a contemporary art studio with a local feeling and a stunning view.
Jongrak Jayawan studied at the College of Fine Art in Bangkok and continued his studies in the Fine Art department at KMITL University Bangkok. Jongrak mainly uses inkpen on paper to create his contemporary artwork. His work can be viewed and purchased at DeepForest Art Studio, at the ‘Our Space’ art collective store in Pai or at the daily evening market.
Ramona van Veghel is from The Netherlands. After extensive travels she settled down in Thailand together with Jongrak in 2011. Ramona has practised and experimented with different meditation techniques (e.g. Vipassana, Osho meditations) and over the years developed a dedicated yoga practice. In 2016 she obtained her first Hatha-Vinyasa 200-RYT certificate and early this year she completed another Hatha-Iyengar style 200-RYT training in India.
